Gabriel Rodríguez Pérez (born in Santiago, Chile, May 26, 1976) is a Chilean〔(Rights to Chilean illustrator’s revered comic Locke & Key Universe bought by Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks Studios )〕 comic book artist and architect, known for his work on the horror series ''Locke & Key''. In addition, he has done the artwork for Subterranean Press's edition of Joe Hill's ''NOS4A2''.
==Career==

Before starting a career as comic artist, Rodríguez studied Architecture at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile where he got his degree and also a M.Arch. There is a very small -if any- comic industry in Chile (their market being so small, among other reasons) so trying to make a living out of this was not an option: Gabriel had to work part-time as architect and drew comics for art's sake or some extra income. His first commission was a set of illustrations for ''"Mitos y Leyendas"'' (Myths and Legends), a collectible cards game by SALO Publishing, Chile. Rodríguez spent 4 years working for them until he got a call from the producers of the CSI TV series and IDW publishing crew. Basically they wanted him to make a comic version of the series. After 5 years of successful collaboration Gabriel was finally able to make comics full-time.〔http://www.eldefinido.cl/actualidad/lideres/630/El_ilustrador_chileno_que_triunfa_en_EEUU_junto_al_hijo_de_Stephen_King/〕
Later on he was introduced to Joe Hill, author and son of Stephen King. Together they spawned the successful 'Locke & Key' series, which earned Gabriel his first Eisner Awards nomination. After that, Rodríguez was commissioned by DC to draw ''Adventures of Superman'' (2013)〔http://impresa.elmercurio.com/Pages/NewsDetail.aspx?dt=2013-12-21&dtB=21-12-2013%200:00:00&PaginaId=22&bodyid=9〕 and IDW's ''Little Nemo, Return to Slumberland'',〔http://www.idwpublishing.com/product/little-nemo-return-to-slumberland-1/〕 which earned him another Eisner Awards nomination.
